About four years ago, UFP Austria took the strategic step into the photovoltaic market. Today we are proud to have this division as a solid pillar of our portfolio. Customer Event with Salzstrom in Mondsee
Theory is good, but personal exchange is better. Just last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming numerous selected electrical partners to our headquarters in Mondsee. The highlight was an exclusive event featuring the Austrian pioneer company Salzstrom. The presentation of their innovative sodium-ion storage systems has met with tremendous resonance since the beginning of the year. This technology is considered one of the most exciting answers to questions of resource scarcity and security. The direct dialogue between the manufacturer and the specialist audience has once again shown how important tangible innovations are for our shared success.
Why Storage Changes the PV Business Case
Despite current inflation, the commitment to the energy transition remains unbroken.
Consumer interest persists, as evidenced by the overwhelming demand for the new Salzstrom brand. The technical evolution of existing systems is particularly attractive right now, as existing photovoltaic installations can now be easily retrofitted with modern storage systems. This trend is further supported by attractive incentives, such as the current storage subsidy in Upper Austria, which makes the transition significantly more affordable. Despite the challenges, there is a lot of momentum in the market. The combination of individual initiative and new government support is paving the way for greater independence.
Reimagining Balcony Solar
Another trend we are currently driving forward is "thinking bigger" when it comes to balcony power plants. The line between small plug-in solar systems and classic rooftop installations is increasingly blurring. With solutions like EcoFlow STREAM, we offer systems that are significantly more powerful and smarter than conventional entry-level models. In doing so, we are opening up entirely new market segments and potential for our specialist retailers and electrical installation companies targeting end consumers who are looking for efficient yet easy-to-install storage solutions.
