Full business functionality, less space required

Following the launch of its new A4 models for the SOHO segment, Brother is now expanding its portfolio for professional users in the SMB market. The new Business Smart X Series brings key features of Brother’s successful A3 Business Ink devices to a more compact A4 format. The line-up consists of the HL-J5113DW printer and the two multifunction devices MFC-J5115DW and MFC-J5117DW.

A4 where A3 simply isn’t needed

The key difference is not reduced business functionality, but the format. Designed specifically for A4, the new models are significantly more compact than their A3 counterparts, with 25% less width and a 27% smaller footprint. Paper is once again fed in the traditional portrait orientation. At the same time, the devices use Brother’s proven MAXIDRIVE printhead technology. They deliver print speeds of up to 28 pages per minute in black and white and 26 pages per minute in colour, while offering Gigabit LAN, dual-band Wi-Fi and an integrated NFC card reader.

Designed for professional print volumes

The new A4 series also remains firmly at business level when it comes to consumables. Optional ink cartridges offer yields of up to 12,000 pages in black and 10,000 pages per colour. Depending on the model, two or three 250-sheet paper trays plus a 100-sheet multipurpose tray are available. The two MFC models add automatic duplex printing, scanning, copying and faxing, as well as a 50-sheet duplex automatic document feeder. The MFC-J5117DW comes with three 250-sheet paper trays.

More compact – also when it comes to materials

Brother also uses EPS-free moulded pulp packaging for the new series. Depending on the model, the devices contain up to 33% recycled plastic. This makes the new models a compact alternative for businesses that need professional functionality and high-yield consumables, but simply do not require an A3 device for their day-to-day work.
